IB offers four programs which include the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme(CP). In all these programs, the students aged 3 to 19 are taught. These programs are challenging thorough and yet rewarding. As the name suggests, the IB curriculum is designed with a global view which is essential in a modern world that revolves around international exposure.
The IB curriculum is innovative and it is in touch with the educational needs of the modern world. the curriculum centers around creativity and experimental learning. The students develop a global outlook which helps improve their international interactions. Critical thinking is a skill that this board values and therefore the students are exposed to knowledge that pushes them to evaluate issues, develop new perspectives, and generate new ideas. The IB curriculum promotes creativity, action, and service and encourages learning that goes beyond books. This balance between classroom and practical learning helps with positive personality development.
The MYP is for students aged 11 to 16. Grade 8 students fall under this age criteria. The curriculum comprises 8 subject groups. The MYP curriculum requires almost 50 hours of teaching per subject. The subject groups offered by schools are often flexible so that the students can learn according to local requirements and long-term goals. The subject groups offered are language acquisition, language, and literature, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical education, and design.
